Hernan

Hernan Dindur was born in southern Sendor in a small town close to the ocean, youngest of three sons. His father was a well-regarded member of the Knights of Peace and his mother an eccentric artificer.

As a child, he looked up to his father and rather creative stories about the Crown Wars and his family's supposed role in the wars. While he later learned that his father and uncles embellished this role greatly, it gave him a firm belief in service and duty. His mother gave him an appreciation for technology, some insight into magic, and a somewhat more accurate picture of history. From her and her family he picked up an interest in the strange and noisy technology of firearms.

He married a woman named Glaya when they were both 22. He was still bright and full of enthusiasm about serving the Knights of Peace. As a cavalry scout, he moved his family to the eastern edge of Sendor, so he could visit more often from patrols. A skilled marksman, quick on his feet, he joined a fledgeling group of cavalry riflemen.

In (2002), while he was away on patrol, his wife, unborn child, and son Weld were attacked and killed by undead. A combination of guilt and irrational anger toward his commanders took seed. His career did not go as well after that; repeated fights with commanders and fierce passion about destroying undead gave him a reputation for being unreliable. When Bludgun attacked, his unit was positioned in a backwater.

As the Myrrish military folded, his unit was finally deployed. But by that point, the war was clearly over; after a few forays, his men agreed to flee to Alexandros and disband.

With a further dimming of his childhood ideals, not sure if any of his family survived the invasion, he accepted. Now he simply scrapes by, getting odd mercenary jobs and hoping for chances to strike at undead or even Bludgun.

His spirits have somewhat lifted with Alexandros' action to liberate Sendor. While he is a touch bitter about how long it took them to get into the fight, he does not question the importance and power they have brought to bear.
