GAME: Abrahil refreshes spells.

"HEEEEEEELP!" comes the call. It's the town that was hosting the Myrrish staging point into Sendor, where the giant metal spider recently departed from. And today, there's a young man, battered by the elements, bursting into the Blushing Rosalia. "There's some kind of creature attacking!"

Well, that's a truly original problem. Not. Teena checks to make sure her rifle is properly wrapped against the elements, though it could still fire if need be, "Which way is it man?"

Ravi-Tan looks up from his fresh-bought earthen cup of mead-like substance. His mouth still open in preparation for taking a drink, Ravi-Tan grimaces and glances down at the questionable slurry, sloshing it about in the cup. Abruptly he sets it down and stands, "Welp, adventure calls! Time to go save the town from evil!" Setting the luckily untouched cup down on the counter top, Ravi-Tan produces no coins for the un-sampled concoction, instead pulling up his hood as he flashes a grin at the barkeep.

"Oh!" Abrahil glances at the table in front of him. Piled high with food--and him on a booster seat. How distressing. He pops his fingers into his mouth, one after the other and sets about--alright. Step one. Eye the floor. Step two, windmill the arms, and step three--fall! and plop! onto the floor with your fat little gray parrot taking to the air and making sound effects.

"Ragu! Jelly-man, jelly-man!"

"Oh, stuff it, you oversized dust-mote! ...now...oh. Well, oh, my. I guess we're ready then," Abrahil the just-fallen-off-the-chair gnome says as he stands and straightens his jerkin. "Where to?"

Ylva is sitting about, for once inside a building rather than traipsing through the wilderness. She just about falls off her chair when the cry sounds out. "Wah! What's that?" she exclaims, steadying herself and standing up. She's quick to fetch up her bow and quiver of arrows. The ranger is quick out the door to see exactly what manner of monster has beset the town.

"It just... just ate a cow!" the man calls out then, "I ran as fast as I could! Quick, you have to help!" he calls out, and then he starts to head back out, assuming everyone who is going to help is coming.

A cow hmm, could be anything from an Ogre to a Dragon, "

Ravi-Tan unshoulders his bow and smirks, stalking towards the exit. He might have been the first off the stool, but rushing into the front line just isn't his style. His bold, confident stride is slow enough to let other, more enthusiastic adventurers take the point against the Cow Eater.

A cow hmm, could be anything from an Ogre to a Dragon. "That doesn't help much Man. What's it look like." The gobbo-girl doesn't wait around for an answer though, and follows right on the heels of the townsfolk.

"Moo-cow," the fat little parrot whistles. Abrahil adjusts his lenses and pats his shoulder. The parrot deigns to weigh it down, and the rotund little gnome is somewhat lopsided thereafter, though with a beachball, it may be hard to tell. "Goodness. A cow's awfully large..." and he hurries out the door.

It isn't long before they come across it. The cow is more like half eaten. But it looks like the... thin is doing it's best to finish the job. It's slimy. In fact, it's made entirely out of slime, which is wrapped around the half-eaten cow, drawing the thing into itself.

Ylva stares at the bizarre thing, obviously clueless as to what it is. She glances about at the others nearby and gives them that confused look. "How do you kill something with no organs?"

Ravi-Tan pauses, coming up short when he sees what the 'creature' is made of, "Oh, that's not good..." Slender, piercing missiles don't mean much to jellies. Glancing around at the others who came out of the Rosalia, he raises an eyebrow, "So, who here is a mage with the fireball spell?" He raises a hand, looking around, "Anyone? You? No? Well." He lowers his hand, "That's just not good at all."

Teena frowns slightly as she looks over the slime monster. "This.. is not good. I don't think my bullets are going to do much against this." She hands her rifle to the townsfolk, "Stand back, and if you loose that, you'll be very sorry." She then draws her oversized shortsword.

"...oh, my. No, I've never believed much in those," says Abrahil firmly as he adjusts his lenses--and takes them off, wipes, replants. "Too messy, you see. I...oh, my. Well, this just isn't good at all, is it." He's taken a step back or two.

Ylva mutters under her breath. A few leaves whirl about her, even if there were no such leaves around in the first place. A pine-scented breeze rushes out from her toward the thing, and the ground erupts with gnarled roots and coiling vines and leafy tendrils, all seeking to entrap the monster.

GAME: Chiddle rolls 1d20-4: (14)+-4: 10

Abrahil rubs his hand over his mouth, and starts at a jog towards the...thing. If a beachball /can/ jog. He does a rough approximation of the movement, and the little gray parrot--takes to the air, flapping madly before taking off after the wizard.

Slimes is not something Teena knows anything about, so hasn't the foggiest idea where to begin. Readying her shield, the little goblin girl moves in front of the others, a very small speedbump, but is able to be ahead of the Gnome.

GAME: Chiddle rolls 1d20+1: (12)+1: 13

The slime thrashes and flails as the gnarling plants surround it, and thrashes about, attempting to squeeze its way through the tightly encapsulating plants, but failing.

Ravi-Tan jogs forward in the beachball's wake, knocking and arrow and peering down range. As the beast becomes entangled, Ravi-Tan waits for something vital to show itself, and, hoping whatever /that/ is happens to be vital, lets loose an arrow that pierces straight through.

Ylva advances, nearing her optimum range. She draws out a single arrow, aims carefully and fires. The arrow pierces through the slime, splattering visibly. "Um, I think I hit something important. An important bit of, um, slime."

GAME: Abrahil rolls 2d4: (7): 7

GAME: Abrahil casts burning hands.

"Goodness...well, alright!" and Abrahil hits his stomach with his fist--it magically becomes a puffed-out chest, and the gnome waddles over towards the entangled creature, opens his hands, and--fwoosh!

Fire flares outward and against the entangled jelly-like beast. It flickers on the vines and against its sides.

GAME: Chiddle rolls 1d20-4: (12)+-4: 8

The goblin girl kind of regrets having given up her rifle now that the arrows seem to have had an effect but she's going to keep the Mage out of trouble as much as possible. Moving forward, she prepares to interpose should the slime break free and head for Abrahil.

"Oh! Well...that's all I had, really," Abrahil confides to the goblin girl, with a wipe at his lenses. "I'm afraid we're fairly well on our own now...I just don't do that blasting thing! So messy, you know..." as if the giant goo-killer weren't just in front of them.

GAME: Chiddle rolls 1d20+1: (17)+1: 18

The slime creature struggles against it's bonds, and while one or two of them do tear form the ground or even snap, more rise up to entangle him.

GAME: Ravi-Tan rolls 1d20+1: (8)+1: 9

"Oh! Well, this is quite the fix, isn't it?" says Abrahil. Instead of the fire, his form shimmers, and the parrot settles a little more securely on his shoulder.

GAME: Ravi-Tan rolls 1d20+ranged+2: (19)+5+2: 26

Ravi-Tan continues to jog forward, well behind the mage and the fighter until he is right beside them. Smirking, Ravi-Tan pulls back another arrow and aligns his sights, so to speak, before jerking the arrow upward and sending it flying through something dark floating through the slime, "Down in front!"

GAME: Ylva rolls ranged+2: (11)+8+2: 21

GAME: Ylva rolls 1d8+3: (6)+3: 9

"I think this is working well," says Ylva, moving up to stand beside Ravi-Tan. She looses another arrow into the horrible thing. "Battles are much more pleasant when the horrible globby thing can't touch you."

The creature's been taking a beating, so Teena moves forward to try and help deal damage to the ooze, slicking her short sword directly into the beast.

And then jumps back as her sword seems to pop it like a balloon, ducking behind her shield to avoid being slimed.

GAME: Teena rolls reflex: (19)+5: 24

Teena pulls the sword back just in time, when the creature explodes acid flies everywhere. Where droplets hit Teena's clothing it disintegrates away, and where it lands on the grass it wilts and fizzles away. However, the creature is dead, and the partly dissolved bones of the cow it was eating spill out everywhere.

Ylva sees Teena finish the job and whispers to the wind. The writhing plants diminish and withdraw back into the ground. "Whew. That wasn't too hard. I hope we don't meet another one of those. I don't think I can pull that off again."

Ravi-Tan whirls about and lifts his hands high, bow already shouldered, "Good people, the Cow Eater of Legend has been SLAIN! Huzzah!" Pulling back his cloak's hood so they can get a good look, he bows and gestures to the others, "This creature will trouble these lands...no more!" And then, very quietly, he adds, "...whatever it was."

The goblin curses as her clothing is eaten away in places. "I am not worried about this one. We need to make sure of where it came from, because something like this doesn't just appear out of no where." She checks her gear and retrieves her rifle.

"Well, that was...certainly exciting. I feel dreadfully sorry for that poor cow," Abrahil looks at the dead moo-beast, and clasps his hands in front of his stomach. Pauses, then shakes a hand at it, "Nothing for you but the stew pot, I'm afraid!"

"It was a sticky thing," says Ylva. She cringes at the remains of the cow. "I wouldn't want any of that in my stew. It's got... stuff all over it."

You all spot a creature bubbling through the soil to the surface- it's another one! Just like the last, only full of dirt and pebbles which is quickly bubbling away. They're coming from underground! How strange.

For some reason, Ylva must depart. Maybe she got some ooze splattered on her and is making a fuss about it getting in her hair. She flusters about and hands her bow and arrows to the conveniently nearby Hekton. "Gwah. Arrows hurt them! I'm going to go get this stuff off me!"

Fire! Fire shoots from Abrahil's hands, and flickers over the surface of the bubbling creature. "Oh, my," and an "Oh, goodness" thrown in for effect--and he's scrambling backwards. The parrot pecks at his head. He swats at it, of course, and the air is filled with the smell of burning jelly.

Ravi-Tan is taken completely by surprise when the creature bubbles out of the ground, and Ravi barely has time to take a wild shot before scrabbling out of the way. At roughly thirty feet away, Ravi-Tan whirls about with his black cloak soaring through the air as he draws an arrow and smoothes down one of the fletchings carefully, eyeing the creature and judging the wind.

GAME: Hekton rolls weapon3: (10)+7: 17

GAME: Hekton rolls 1d8+4: (8)+4: 12

GAME: Hekton rolls reflex: (5)+2: 7

Hekton marches forward, having just arrived from wherever he was. He's slower than everyone else, you see? Anyway, his sword springs into his hand as he reaches the slime, and he brings it down in a vicious arc, shearing the thing almost in half. Of course, slimes don't really feel pain or get hampered by that, so it's still pretty much alright. Unfortunately, the acid on the creature's body eats right through his sword, and he is left holding just a hilt. He stares at it for a moment, processing, and narrows his eyes as he looks back at the thing. Oh yeah, it's gonna /die/.

As the fists of the metal man collide with the gray ooze, he will find the metal bubbling away at the acidic touch of the creature, as it dashes towards Teena. It forms a Pseudopod, which lashes out across Teena's chest, burning right through to her skin with the acid- the ground it travels across bubbles and boils as it moves past leaving acid wherever it touches.

GAME: Abrahil casts grease.

GAME: Chiddle rolls 1d20-4: (11)+-4: 7

Gray parrot whistles. He flaps his wings as Abrahil bounces about, pouches jiggling as he pulls something wrapped in dark, greasy paper from it. A small pat of butter. It slips on his fingers like soap as he mutters some words in the Arcana, then vanishes altogether, turning into a dust and flying through the air at the creature--and coating the creature with a gooey, oily substance. "Oh...oh, there we go. Now add a bit of fire, someone! She'll light up like a candle!" and to himself, "...I hope..."

GAME: Chiddle rolls 1d20+4: (1)+4: 5

GAME: Teena rolls 1d20+8: (17)+8: 25

GAME: Teena rolls 2d8+0: (14)+0: 14

Being this close to the slime isn't a good position for the Gobber Girl, but she's got two choices, attempting to flee, or attempting to fire. Risking the second, Teena kneels and reloads her rifle as a pseudopod flails over her head, then she fires a powerful shot into the dead centre of the creature, causing it to burst. "Please tell me there are no more of those things."

Ravi-Tan pulls back his knocked arrow but raises an eyebrow as the greasy slime slumps dead. Looking around without turning his head, Ravi-Tan eventually turns his bow every which way, determined not to be caught by surprise again, "And, uh, it's mate! The legendary mate of the Cow Eater. Of legend."

There is a long, painful silence as the thing melts and bubbles away. but... no new one coming, at least not for now.

"I'm going to hope you're right." Abrahil folds his hands together. He tugs at his rounded, lower lip--there's a hint of glistening spittle on it, there, and he adjusts the lenses atop his long and pointed nose. "Was it their honeymoon, do you suppose?" he pauses. And then the implications of that hit. He looks ready to cry.

Teena says, "Okay, we need that hole filled as soon as possible."

Thankfully for Hekton's face and Teena's wardrobe, even after several minutes there don't appear to be any further targets. Someone is going to have to do something about the cow, sooner or later, though.

"...well, we could use the cow," Abrahil tentatively says.

Ravi-Tan looks to Hekton, "She's right. We need that hole filled as soon as possible. I'll go find

help." Ravi-Tan boldly starts towards the Inn, supposedly to find 'help'. Possibly.

Teena says, "Would you really want to eat something that's been inside /that/? Burn it"

"Well, no, I said--use it to fill the hole," Abrahil pulls out a handkerchief, and dabs at his face. He tucks it away, once this is done, and looks the better for it. "If you're at all concerned with it...though I'm not sure the Yrch wouldn't. They tend to eat a little of everything, you know. Quite the contestants."

GAME: You nominated Teena for good roleplay.

the two and a half foot goblin looks at the very large cow, "Someone else can figure that out. I'm going for a drink."
