A collection of posts and rumors from the game, as this is a fairly significant event, and I wanted to record it in one place before it vanished entirely. :)

Strange Signs Sat Dec 26 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reports and rumors begin filtering into local taverns, mixing into the talk of war and other such things. Ill omens and signs and wonders are beginning to permeate the lands.
In Eccelsia an oracle of Eluna suffers uncurable blindness and dumbness after peering into the Well of Three.
In the lands of Cellene about the Eidolon Court, a steady stream of light fills the air, rising from the ground to the heavens, preventing all pilgrims from entering the region. A strange mist begins spreading from The Court, gradually transforming the woodland into a near sea of mist and fog.
The constellation 'Scale of Commandments', seemingly shifts positions as if the scale has been broken in half.
Scribes attempting to inscribe the 'Eye of Animus' into documents find they can only inscribe the symbol with the eye closed, or open and shedding tears of blood.
For a period of twenty four hours, clerics in Bryn Myridorn find their pryaers unanswreed and divine magic ceases responding.
In Stormgarde, witnesses observe the face of Eluna eclipsed by the Phantom Moon for the duration of Yule.
The Khardic Mountain, holy seat of Angoron, rumbles threateningly for a period of seven straight days in the tablelands of Dran.

Catastrophe Wed Dec 30 Local News
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All across green Gaea and into the depths of The Beyond, to the very edges of All-Creation, and back again, followers of Animus from the highest cleric to the lowest librarian hear a heart wrenching scream of agony and then a sudden utter silence that rushes forth afterwards followed by a feeling of utter emptiness and quietness in the depths of their being. Clerics who reach into themselves or who utter the words of faith to call forth the divine power of Animus find nothing at all but a sense of loss and abandonment. There is sudden stillness across the world - and then chaos.
In Rune the Discs of Animus, artifacts that have long been symbolic of the magocracy's supremacy in the realm of arcane principle, abruptly shatter, exploding into an inferno of blue-white fire that engulfs the top floors of the Ivory Tower and blasts debris a miles high. The shockwave rips forth from explosion, toppling the towers of the Convocation of Wizards down towards the city below.
Leylines that criss cross Gaea as the conduit for the Sea of Mana, normally invisible to the naked eye, suddenly erupt into visible light sending streams of blue-green mana racing upwards towards the heavens in uncontrolled amounts. All across the world, magic both arcane and divine fails, as the gods withdraw their power to contain the catstrophe and the Sea of Mana churns and rolls at the sudden disappearance of its caretaker.
The floating lands plummet. In Dragonier, entire tracts of land begin to collapse and fall downward as the mana-laden winds that held them aloft abruptly fail, sending whole portions of the nation descending for the land below.
In Alexandria, wild magic washes across the city, sending airships crashing, towers collapsing, and magic-engines exploding across the industrial district.
In The Vast, gaping holes to the infernal realms suddenly rent open, sending fire and warfare spilling onto the Phurai Dae and Tsuran.
On the war soaked fields of Sendor, the gates to the afterlife are thrown open, sending spectral images of ghosts and phantoms warring onto the battlefields and into the heavens where they clash, reliving old battles and ancient rivalries alongside the warring forces of Bludgun and Myrddion.
Eventually divine magic returns though it may be to little and to late at that. However wild magic continues to rage unchecked.
Two days remain until the new year…

Rumors Continued Sat Jan 02 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As Years Birth arrives, the global chaos continues although reports state that in some place it is subsiding while in other places conflicting reports abound, making it hard to verify the truth of these tales.
From Ecclesia, the priests and clerics of the Holy Order of Ea have come to the conclusion that the god Animus seems to have utterly disappeared though attempts to recover exact details have been unsuccessful. Faithful and Faithless alike, desperate for answers, have been flooding the shrines, temples and holy sites of the Eidolons all over Gaea in need of encouragement or in attempts to bring down various strongholds of faiths. After all if one god can abandon the world, what prevents the others from doing so?
The leyline fires have died down but growing wild magic storms continue to sweep across the land, rendering stable artifice ineffective where they pop up and hurtling the world back into the Time of the Sword as banditry, uprising and chaos rises in numerous parts of the world where strong industrial city-states once held sway.
In the vaccuum caused by the instability of artifice, steamworks and clockwork engineering has seen a sudden upsurge although it cannot replicate many of the most potent effects caused by the use of magitech.
A roving wild magic storm sent the floating prison fortress of Skyhold plummetting to the ground in an explosive fall that killed hundreds and set free a large majority of the most powerful criminals, extraplanar fugitives and outlaws spilling into the Desolation and into other outlaw lands. Some report a dark haired sorceress standing atop the ruins and screaming incoherently at a strange snake-skull shaped face in the clouds.
The Planar Disjunction Cannon activated on its own accord after a wild magic storm passed over Alexandria and fired an enormous blast of magical energy across the landscape where it struck the mountains of southern Bludgun. Upon impact a cadre of beings later identified as Inevitables, spilled from the rent in the skies and fell upon the battlefields of Bludgun and Myrddion in several waves, fighting both sides of the ongoing war in an attempt to bring balance to the chaos caused by the recent happenings.
Rumor of growing trouble and unrest between priests of Maugrim and Taara are on the rise. The newly built shrine to Maugrim in Alexandria, headquarters of the so called 'Hellguard' has shut its doors to all outsiders.
The Silver Moon has not been seen in the skies for three days.
